"Thus, for well-disposed members of the faithful, the liturgy of the sacraments and sacramentals sanctifies almost every event in their lives; they are given access to the stream of divine grace which flows from the paschal mystery of the passion, death, the resurrection of Christ, the font from which all sacraments and sacramentals draw their power. There is hardly any proper use of material things which cannot thus be directed toward the sanctification of men and the praise of God." - Sacrosanctum Concilium, Ch. 3, #61 (From the Second Vatican Council)

POLICY
It is the policy of the Church of the Resurrection, and the surrounding Catholic churches that anyone seeking the sacraments of Baptism, First Eucharist, First Reconciliation, Confirmation and Matrimony must be a registered member of our church community at least 3 months prior to being able to receive the sacrament.
BAPTISM
» Baptism Class Schedule 2010-11
» Church of the Resurrection Baptism Policy
We are formally received into the Catholic Christian Community through Baptism. Specific arrangements are made in advance through the Religious Education Office. The required Baptism class is usually held the first Monday of the month at 7:00 pm. The Sacrament of Baptism is administered the second Sunday of each month in the Church at 3:15 p.m., and the fourth Sunday of each month in Spanish at 2:00 p.m. Parents need to be active church members at least 3 months prior to a Baptism being scheduled.

We ask God's forgiveness for our sins through the sacrament of Reconciliation. Private confession is available every Saturday in the church, 2:45 to 3:45. Communal penance celebrations take place in all four Lakeland Churches during Advent and Lent.
First Reconciliation is celebrated by children in the second grade in preparation for First Eucharist, receiving the Body and Blood of Christ for the first time. Catechetical preparation is given through our Religious Education Program and in the Resurrection Catholic School.
EUCHARIST

Holy Eucharist is celebrated at Mass as we receive Jesus in the consecrated bread and the Precious Blood. Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion are specially trained to assist in distributing Communion during Mass and to bring Eucharist to the sick and homebound.
CONFIRMATION
» Confirmation Brochure
» Confirmation Participants Form
In Confirmation young adults receive the fullness of the Holy Spirit like the Apostles at Pentecost. Confirmed members, with the help of the Holy Spirit continue to evangelize others and build up the Body of Christ.
MATRIMONY
» Pre-Cana Registration Form
In sacramental marriage a man and a woman make a lifelong gift of themselves to each other. Roman Catholics are required to be married in church by a Priest or Deacon. To insure understanding of all that their gift involves, the Diocese of Orlando requires at least 4 months preparation time. Youths under 19 years require special counseling as part of their preparation. Arrangements must be made 6 months in advance. Please contact Amanda Livermore for more information.
ANNOINTING OF THE SICK
The sacrament of the sick is a healing sacrament of anointing for persons seriously ill, facing hospitalization that may involve surgery, or other life threatening procedures. Reception of this Sacrament involves forgiveness of all sin. The sacrament is administered by our Priests during healing Masses and also privately. Please call the church office at 646-3556 to request this healing sacrament.
