Men's Emmaus Retreat
A Weekend Retreat for the Men of the Church of the Resurrection, St. Joseph and St. John Neumann.

Why Emmaus?
Everyone needs to take a little time away from the hustle of today's world. This is your opportunity to set some time aside for yourself.

What is Emmaus?
It is a retreat experience where men gather to be ministered to by other men. It is for men who wish to experience God, renew and deepen their relationship with the Lord, and set aside time for personal growth. The retreat is based on the Gospel of Luke 24:13-35.

What happens on the weekend?
You will hear talks given by different men from our parish, but no lectures or assignments. You will have an opportunity to pray and to get to know the other men on the retreat.

Testimonials
"Attending the Emmaus retreat was one of the best decisions that I have made. The experience profoundly strengthened my desire for a closer relationship with Jesus Christ as well as to become a better man. I have also made friendships with many wonderful men that I met on the retreat. I wholeheartedly recommend it!" Tom Waller, Emmaus V

"The walk to Emmaus brought me closer to my God and connected me spiritually with lost of other Emmaus brothers as friends and brothers in Christ." Ron Reycraft, Emmaus II

"Emmaus! What an experience. I, like every other, life with many demands on my daily life - job, spouse, kids, etc. The Emmaus experience let me relax for a weekend and put my life's priority in perspective. I recommend to every man to take 48 hours out of his life to get closer to God and to get real on his priorities! I can think of only a few past occasions that had as much impact on my spiritual life than Emmaus." Patrick Thurmond, Emmaus III

"My Emmaus experience was just what I needed. It has made me a better and more active Catholic, a motivated father and husband, and a better and happier person who is closer to God, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit. Because of Emmaus, I have a renewed faith and I pray with a deeper sense of connection to God. Emmaus has allowed me to be ore active in the church and concentrate on its teachings at home, at work, but most importantly, for my family." Marty Pochmara, Emmaus I

"The Emmaus retreat is a powerful, guided journey that renews your spirit, your faith and ultimately your relationship with Jesus. Along the way you build relationships with your fellow journeymen and learn that you are not alone on the journey: Jesus and your Emmaus brothers walk with you. I recommend the Emmaus experience to everyone." Armand Rapetti, Emmaus VII

"I attended the Emmaus walk retreat in May 2008 and it was truly a unique and eye opening event in my life. As a product of Jesuit boarding high school and college I had eight years of Jesuit retreat experience in my background with eight different Jesuit retreat masters, but the Emmaus retreat which is led by actual lay members of the two parishes and directly participated in by all attendees is a totally different experience and I am glad I tried it." John C. Corrigan, Emmaus VI

"I would like to let you know how the Emmaus weekend affected my life. I must tell you that I was VERY reluctant, but it was the best decision I have EVER made in my life. I used to think so much about me and my life. I don't want to sound corny, but after that weekend I realized that God has blessed me and my family with so much that I can be nothing but humble and thank Him every day. I didn't want to be there on that first retreat but ever since then I have NEVER regretted going. All of the great men and new brothers that I have come to know have given me so much enrichment that all I can do is thank the Lord for all the good He has given us.

There were so many things that seemed to be going out of control in my life at that particular time. But somehow God graced me and my family and things are not out of control! Since that first retreat, God gave me a new outlook on life. He has truly blessed us all when we're there praising His name. You can believe that!" Henry Godinez, Emmaus I
