FROM OUR PASTOR'S DESK
Dear Friends in Christ:
This weekend, we honor several groups of special people. Our First Communicants received Jesus in the Holy Eucharist for the first time. This is a day they will remember throughout their lifetime. Thank you, teachers and parents, for giving your dedicated support to these special young people on their journey of preparation for this big day.
Our Festival of Faith workers simply cannot be thanked enough for all their hard work and dedication to this great event. It was a wonderful presentation and our parish was so well represented.
Next, we offer sincere congratulations to the following people of our parish who were honored at the Festival of Faith Friday evening at a prayer service and who have served us here at Resurrection with distinction throughout the years: Sal V. Campisi, Sr., Bruce Abels, Nancy Genzel, Ron Henkelman, Dan McGowan, Maggie McGowan, Sister Giovannina Saleeby, and Shawn Warren.
Finally, to all of our mothers, living or deceased, Happy Mother’s Day! We are forever grateful for all your wisdom, comfort, love and sacrifices. God bless you all!

OUR CATHOLIC APPEAL 2008 Because of key priorities that surfaced through the two-year synod planning process, the Diocese of Orlando’s Our Catholic Appeal 2008 will be a little earlier this year. Within the next week or so, you will be receiving a personal letter from Bishop Wenski inviting your participation. Please read the letter and prayerfully consider responding to it, in a spirit of gratitude and love for the many gifts the Lord has given you. You may return your completed, personalized pledge card by:
- Mailing it directly to the parish in the envelope provided.
- Bringing it to weekend Mass and placing it in the offertory basket.

Registration for the 2008-2009 school is now taking place. Limited spaces are available. Please contact Renee Parker in the school office, 644-3931, for information regarding enrollment for the upcoming school year.
If you are interested in a Catholic education for your children and are concerned about the cost of tuition please consider enrolling in the Florida Pride program. Florida Parental Rights in Deciding Education (PRIDE), a private foundation, awards annual scholarships to eligible Florida students. The scholarship of $3750 (the rate awarded for the 2007-2008 school year) is for tuition and books and is renewed annually.
